Is heat-not-burn or IQOS legal in Spain? Can I use IQOS in public in Spain? First of all, according to the regulations found, the use of e-cigarettes outdoors or in public in Spain is Permitted. But due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, Spain bans public vaping where social distancing cannot be guaranteed (started from 17th August).


The rapid spike in new cases of coronavirus infections in Spain has prompted the national government to prohibit smoking and vaping in all public spaces where it is not possible to ensure a 1.5 metre social distance.

Some regions, including Andalusia, have already enforced the new restrictions: from 17th August, it is forbidden to smoke or vape in public spaces where social distancing cannot be followed. A €100 fine will be imposed on those failing to comply with the new regulations.

Regarding whether electronic cigarettes can be used in public places, most countries have followed laws similar to cigarettes. But you cannot draw conclusions from this. It is best to check the information before boarding the plane.
